The Great Gnomeregan Run for Breast Cancer Awareness

For the last 10 years, Warcraft Cares has hosted a virtual run in World of Warcraft supporting the Cleveland Clinic and The Pink Fund. This in-game run has not only brought vast communities of gamers together but has raised thousands of dollars. G3 Charity Gaming has participated in this event over the last 3 years in partnership with World of Warcraft guild, The Defiant Ones and we will run the race together!

Event Overview:
What: Our little gnomies will race for their lives starting in Gnomeregan and ending in Booty Bay. The race will benefit the Cleveland Clinic and the Pink Fund to bring awareness & help bring an end to Breast Cancer!
Why Gnomes: Gnomes are one of the few races with pink hair, making it easy for everyone to rock the pink look since October is breast cancer awareness month, and - the idea of small gnomes doing BIG things sends an empowering message!
How to Participate:
Make a level 1 Gnome on Scarlet Crusade (A) - US server or connected server, Feathermoon- US (sorry we cannot group in any cross-realm Gnomes as this will cause phasing issues)
Gnome MUST have pink hair (for breast cancer awareness)
Name your Gnome with Defiant or G3 pride! Put the letters "DO" or “Defiant” or G3 somewhere in your name! (eg: Dorosie, Dotatas, Defiantrosie, RosieG3, G3Sara) . Have fun with this part- just try to keep it clean-ish!
Take pics and post to discord chat throughout the event!
Race starts promptly at 9PM EST so please make your toon in advance. It will be hectic so we recommend log-in by 8PM EST to solidify your spot.
There will be lag - so make sure to feed the squirrels!
Wear your guild tabard (if you’re able). Since tabards are BoA, mail yourself the Account Bound guild tabard that you can get from the guild vendors such as Stormwind or Orgrimmar, and equip it. It will be pretty in pink for the occasion. CLICK FOR PINK MOG IDEAS
Make sure Warmode is off
Stick with the DO Group, follow all directions, and most importantly HAVE FUN!
Guild Invites
Warcraft Cares has premade guilds that we will join for the event. This is important as it helps them to report on participation rate which helps to keep this event intact for years to come.
Event Leads of these 11 Guilds will be inviting all throughout the day on Saturday so if you get on early and want to get ahead of the curve and get an invite that’s perfectly fine!
Navigating the GNOME ZONE and picking up the RUN QUEST
If you are making a level 1 Gnome on Scarlet Crusade or Feathermoon for the Gnome Run in a few hours, make sure you select GNOMEREGAN as your starting zone
As you leave the spawn, make your way to the elevator lift.
When you come out of the building, follow the path to the black and white checkered race banner
Look to your left and there is a gnome named “ Mina Gleespanner “ standing on a box and she has a quest for you to pick up called The Great Gnomeregan Run
Once you get the quest, head to the hut on the right of the race banner and wait by the mailbox for the other Defiants so we can run together at 7PM EST
Check general chat for a message from Dravvie or other Warcraft Cares team members to whisper them with the word “Invite” and you will be invited to one of their approved guilds for the run (this is important because Blizzard matches donations for them based on # of gnomes that join each guild)
A player named “Aristella” will yell in-game to OPEN TRADE with her to get a FREE pink shirt and 1 Gold to buy a tabard from the vendor (you can right-click her name to target her and find her to open trade)
Then you run up to Ironforge to buy your tabard OR just send yourself an heirloom one if you don’t want to run everywhere (edited)
Defiant Gnomes will be grouped in multiple groups of 5 and meeting by the mailbox at the bottom of the hill from the starting zone.
Look for DOROSIE and I will designate group leads and we will form groups as early as 6:15PM EST
Please be patient. It will be hectic. It will be laggy, but it will be amazingly fun and you’ll laugh your little Gnome asses off!
